The adoption fee for an animal is $20.00, which is non- refundable. The City of Forney makes no warranties as to the animals disposition and or the health of the animal, expressed or implied. The City of Forney reserves the right to pull an animal from adoption. All adopted animals must be taken to a licensed veterinarian for vaccinations, treatment, and sterilization at the new owner’s expense. Current state law requires that all dogs and cats be vaccinated for rabies and that all dogs and cats adopted from an animal shelter be sterilized and tattooed by the licensed veterinarian upon completion of the sterilization. You must also furnish the City of Forney with a statement by the veterinarian that the animal has been sterilized.
